As You Like It

Shakespeare returns to Ludlow Castle 60 years after the first performance! Here to There Productions have been invited by Ludlow Fringe to bring Shakespeare back to Ludlow Castle with their brand new production of ‘As You Like It’. It's the Swinging 60’s and life at the court of the usurping Duke Frederick is lived on the edge -overflowing with tensions, intrigues and brotherly hate. Meanwhile in the Forest of Arden, peace and love reigns where the Duke’s exiled brother Duke Senior has taken refuge. The hippie lifestyle here is much slower and more gentle - until it is disturbed by runaways and four sets of lovers, including a cross dressing woman. Add a comedy duo and All The World’s A Stage. Come play your part at this Open Air production of Shakespeare’s comedy ‘As You Like It’ in the beautiful setting of Ludlow Castle. Full of song & dance, including live 60’s pop and rock music you know and love along with folk music written especially for the production. Produced by Andrew Whittle of Here to There Productions Directed by Vivien Jones Technical design by Ludlow based company Wild Edric Media Bring a blanket, chairs and maybe a picnic and join us for an evening of comedy, drama and live music. Tickets £15 /13 available online from Ludlow Assembly Rooms or Eventbrite Tickets available in person at Ludlow Assembly Rooms, the Fringe Office or Green's Solicitors, Ludlow. If it rains, the show must go on so please come prepared!
